The teachers are so nice and explain well.
The teachers are so nice and explain well.
Loved all of it, it was perfect and enjoyed everything.
The lesson was fantastic, I’ve learned so much our instructor Debbie was lovely, thanks so much for everything!
I always enjoy being at Sadtc, I have no complaints. Thank you to every one for always being kind and ready to help
Thank you for your email, I was impressed I think in time Chopper is going to do great with you.
I am very happy.
We were completely satisfied with the lesson. We are very happy that we made the decision to train with your school.
All went well. Hopefully Senna will be chasing the bigger puppies around soon.
We had a great first lesson, thank you. Looking forward to the next one.
The training is coming along. Lexi catches on quicker than Storm but it’s given us some fun time with the dogs.
Saturday went very well. We both enjoyed it.
1st lesson went really well learnt new things and was very enjoyable. Looking forward to our next lesson
My first lesson with Skip went really well, thank you for asking. We enjoyed our lesson with our instructor.
It was really valuable and we learned a lot.
Was great fun as always. See you Saturday.
Very satisfied thanks!
Really enjoyed going back to basics with the pups. The trainer was amazing as always!
Zara first lesson on Saturday was good, although she was distracted with lots of activities all around.
Our instructor was awesome, very patient with Zara and very caring. Can’t wait for the next lesson this Saturday.
I have been doing my homework this week, teaching Zara to “Sit” “Down”, making eye contact as well as calling her to come to me. She been doing all the commands perfect.
Kayla and Mila loved it. They are working hard every day and loving it.
My parents had a much better lesson on Saturday. Hermione was not as anxious and was working much better than she did on her first lesson, which made the experience more pleasant for the both of them. They did arrive 30 minutes before class, which I think helped a lot. We are going to try and do the same this coming Saturday.
My mom is a big animal lover, like myself and always wants to put her animals first. I think the more my mom sees Hermione improve and start to work well the more she will enjoy the process.
We will definitely work on the massage/touch to help Hermione. Thank you for your advice Chris, we will work on what you have suggested.
We absolutely loved every moment of it…
I would recommend the SADTC to all who I meet.
I promise, if it was not for all Troy’s sports – we would not miss a session.
This instructor students joins us from India, here he is working with dogs that are reactive to other dogs. He is doing very well and is now presenting his own classes.
Thanks for that feedback. So glad you are enjoying life in the bush. I always thought your pre class theory session was a bit special and something I never saw anywhere else. Never came close to same level of doggy trg professionalism in any other civvy club.
I came to a school to talk to children about what a dog training Instructor does. I told them about S.A. Dog Training College and also about my business. I wanted to share this with you cos I would not have been able to do this without you and Chris. I am planning to talk to the High schoolers as well. Thank you so much!
6 years ago I sat in ICU with Caleb after a dog attack. He could barely move his neck and today he still had the scars on his neck from the teeth. It was easily one of the most scary moments of my life. I’m still thankful to each and every person who was there along the way. But mostly to Mark Winterbottom and the South African Dog Training College. Today Caleb lives and loves two ginormous dogs with no fear. What more could I ask for?
The training session was really good thank you.
No complaints
Yes, everything was fine, looking forward to the next lesson. I know it can be a frustration as a first time handler but with your knowledge and expertise I can only hope for the best.
We both thoroughly enjoyed the lesson.
I was very satisfied, thank you so much.
Saturday went very well. We both enjoyed it.
1st lesson went really well learnt new things and was very enjoyable. Looking forward to our next lesson
It was really valuable and we learned a lot.
Was great fun as always. See you Saturday.
Very satisfied thanks!
Really enjoyed going back to basics with the pups. The trainer was amazing as always!
Good morning Romayne,
I am well thank you, I hope you are too.
Burfee has been doing great. ? We’ve been reinforcing his training everyday since his return and he’s doing wonderfully – much calmer!
Thank you so much for your efforts and assistance.
Thanks for the mail, he is doing well thank. We are still doing the training but going fine
Kayla and Mila loved it. They are working hard everyday and loving it.
My parents had a much better lesson on Saturday. We will definitely work on the massage/touch on the tips and tails to help her.
Thank you for your advice Chris, we will work on what you have suggested.
We absolutely loved every moment of it…
I would recommend the SADTC to all who I meet. I promise, if it was not for all Troy’s sports – we would not miss a session.
I really enjoyed the behavioural side of the studies.
Please bring the course closer to KZN so I can come train by you more often..
I really enjoyed the course, the people and the things I learned. I will most definitely recommend the course to other people.
The most valuable lesson I learnt is to THINK LIKE A DOG.
All the topics covered were valuable, as well as the cautionary note on evaluating a dog for yourself and not taking what people tell you about their dog as the truth.
The venue is suitable and functional, nice to be outdoors and have the kennels available for assessments and to be able to work with dogs that are here to be kennelled/trained.
It was a very informative course and it is good to work through all the topics as it all comes together in the end.
Thank you for the privilege to learn from you. Your love and passion for dogs is inspiring. I thoroughly enjoyed learning more about dogs and look forward to learning more. I would love to learn more about behaviour and to attend a workshop on Therapy dogs.
The venue was spectacular and the manner in which the premises are set up is good.
The most valuable thing I learnt was reading different behaviours.
The seminar presenters were lovely and the venue was suitable.
It was truly a great experience. The course was more than expected.
The presentation was covered well and addressed attentively.
My expectations were more than met. It was truly amazing and stimulating. It was a great experience.
I thoroughly enjoyed both the topics and the presenters.
The venue was 100 per cent.
The most valuable thing I learnt was a better understanding of how dogs think, interact and view us.
Classes were always interesting and well presented. Many topics was discussed that I hadn’t even though of.
I enjoyed the course very much. I learned a lot more than expected. I am looking at dogs now with different eyes.
Very well presented and very happy I attended.
There is so much priceless information.
Lovely venue, love the space and the cleanliness. The staff was all so wonderful.
I was very happy with the course, I wish it was longer because it was fun. I had excitement about learning new things everyday.
I look forward to learning more in the future.
The most valuable thing I learnt was behaviour and de-sensitising.
Presenters were all fabulous and excellent. All was fantastic as is, I give a 10 out of 10.
It feels as if you are the whole time part of the dogs around you.
Please consider giving levels 1, 2 and 3 more than once a year. The seminar is definitely a must, it is a different world.
Thanks for the seminar, all I can say is WOW, it opens your eyes to a different world.
The most valuable thing I learnt was how to handle dogs and how to get the best out of them with positive methods.
Everything was very valuable.
I will come back for level 2 and 3 for the in-depth for the subjects. I have learnt to focus on my body, my mind, the dog and being under pressure.
It is perfect, we had everything we need.
Thank Chris and Christine. I did not know what to expect when I came, it was a tough course, but worth it. I had my bad moments, but you helped me to work through it.
Thanks for everything you have taught me.
The most valuable thing I learnt was better and more refined handling, and drives.
Really enjoyed this one.
I do not want Chris to retire, he is a very good leader. The pressure Christine puts on us feels very constructive and very happy.
I was very happy and woke up excited each morning. I can’t wait to start my career in the dog world.
The most valuable thing I learnt was how they showed standards and how they are marked.
Venue was good. Loved it.
The very in-depth behaviour was awesome, as well as the higher level competition work.
It was great. I enjoyed the presenters and the work, and I enjoyed the instructors as well.
I enjoyed working with aggressive dogs and what techniques to use.
They are brilliant. The course is brilliant and fun, I enjoyed it and it truly has changed my life.
I enjoyed learning about scent work and also the move advanced exercises, like distance control.
I enjoyed all the lectures and practical’s. All relevant and good depth and detail.
I really enjoyed learning all of this stuff. I have learned a lot over the past 4 weeks and I am excited to go and put it into practice. Thank you.
You guys were really sweet.
Week after week, my experience and views about this course are more positively stronger. Consistency and the in-depth studies and practical we have, I would suggest a day off weekly, as it does take a toll mentally, but overall, it has been an eye opener, as it was in-depth understanding on behaviour of dogs.. Always THINK LIKE A DOG.
How to identify body language in dogs was extremely valuable.
Thank you for the time and effort put into helping me to become a better instructor and behaviourist. I am looking forward to doing more work and getting more involved. Thank you Chris and Christine, you changed my life.
Different behaviours and how some can look like others is the most valuable lesson I have learnt.
All the topics were taught perfectly. It was a great venue and was very good.
Very happy with the course, will help improve my understanding of dogs and work better my dog day care career.
I went to a farm close to Belfast where the woman has a riding school, she has got a German shepherd that bites the horses, so I went there and took him to the camp where they walk with the horses I first started walking the dog outside the camp. I gradually progressed so that he was not lunging at the horses, and eventually had him lying . I am going to work with him again next week.
Now my highlight was yesterday, I was so amazed myself and the owners mouth dropped open after I worked with her dogs.
The lady is a doctor her husband is a farmer and they have a son who is 2. They have a Duchie and rescued a German Shepherd and yesterday I worked with the dogs. I taught her what to do and also did behaviour shaping with the dogs.
She sent me a message late afternoon and told me it is going so good there is quietness in the house for the first time since they got back. they did not have an incident since yesterday before I got there. So with all of this happening i want to study further.
With my own dogs I have also got breakthrough, they don’t jump on us anymore, and my one female struggles with retrieve so Sunday I took 2 of them to the dam and Ii threw the dumbbell for them and they brought it back for me we played like that for a bit. Yesterday when I threw a ball for her she brought it back to me, it was a wonderful feeling.
The 2 that were fighting have also improved.
I am so grateful for all the knowledge that I have learned from you, thank you for helping me, your course has changed my live forever.
Maximus is doing well the walking on the lead is by far the biggest improvement and I work with him a little bit every day to reinforce what you guys taught him. He hasn’t dug up my garden since so that’s also a big positive.
Contemplating the protection work will call to discuss this soon.
We really enjoyed the lesson, it started on time and we received valuable information. Lucy was exhausted afterwards and we also love how she was able to get time to socialise with other puppies.
We are grateful this weeks class will be earlier as last week was so incredibly hot.
Loved the filming link! Didn’t realise Ayla was such a champion at handling, was really nice to see.
We want to thank you both for accepting us into your family at SADTC. You and your team: Chris, Sandra, Biata, Annemarie, Keith, Matt, and the rest of the team in their own ways have taught us to understand and appreciate our dogs – children: Maximus, Buddy – much more than most people would in their lifetime.
We are now trained to not fail our animals because of you and your team. THANK YOU!
We are very happy that our babies can do the basic home obedience, We wish you and your business all the success and will be back to visit and show that we are keeping up with all the training that you have taught us.
We have a lot of love and admiration for all of you and we will surely miss the interaction and making you all laugh with our “naughty” behavior ?.
Thank you so much, you guys really were great, we enjoyed all of our time with you.
You guys have been amazing and we will keep on referring you guys to all of our friends in the Vaal.
We hope you guys are very blessed going forward.
Baie dankie vir alles. Ons en Ollie het die klasse vreeslik geniet, hy gaan tannie en al sy nuwe maatjies baie mis.
Baie dankie vir die moeite en omgee.
Ons wens julle almal net die beste toe voorentoe.
It was lovely! We were quite nervous at the beginning, but Biata is such an awesome instructor.
Just want to get our practice in this week so we don’t disappoint.
We really enjoyed the lesson, it started on time and we received valuable information. Lucy was exhausted afterwards and we also love how she was able to get time to socialise with other puppies.
We had a very memorable experience on our first day. Very happy with our trainer in the puppy class.
My first lesson went very well on Saturday, looking forward to learning more from Biata she is really good and was patient.
The first lesson was fantastic. Biata is a great instructor and keeps the class alive. That is exactly what you as a learner is looking for. Great great great!
I was very satisfied with our first training class and thoroughly enjoyed our instructor as she was full of energy and enthusiastic.
The first lesson was great, it was conducted in a very professional manner and Christine was very helpful, well I must say my dog enjoyed herself very much, I didn’t know about the other owners she ran over their dogs (felt a little embarrassed about that, she didn’t listen) I must say I was really surprised, thank you very much for a very interesting and educational morning, see you again on Saturday.
Thanks for the email, our first training was great,
Tucker had a blast, we are doing homework and enjoying this journey!
I would like to thank you for the classes that Oliver could attend at SADTC.
Where do I start!!
I absolutely loved it.
I am going to be so honest I was supper stressed never slept well before Saturday as to what you might think of the dogs I don’t know, with them not being used to “socialising”” with other dogs etc..
We have enrolled x2 dogs
– Bella the pitty and
– Diablo the staf pup
The whole week we attempted to put puppy choker on Dubs but nothing he was petrified he ran away he did nothing.
We arrived there and Biata (not sure how to spell name) helped my son and puppy strolled all over on his choker
Bella we were super stressed had a harness on. my husband was freaked out she also put the collar on and guided my husband what to do he was relaxed
Both Bel & Dubs did great with training. Bella did not do what we though she would do she was actually quite chilled.
On arrival she went crazy in the car when we left she had her head out window all chilled.
If I could honestly say I do believe this will be our best investment into our pups and I am super great full for every member of your Team.
ANYONE!! You see someone with SADTC logo on you ask them something they help you guide you give you a tip you name it.
From the lady in the club house/canteen to the guys doing the training or assisting with the training you guys are amazing.
In Bellas’ class there was quite a “angry” pup and just the way the trainer and “assistants” placed everyone guided everyone I don’t know how to explain you guys know your Sh!t and you are amazing – no matter what breed / size / temper you are all well-educated and I am truly thankful that we can be part of the training at your “college” and I will recommend ANY ONE AND EVERYONE who has a new dog young or old to take their pups to you guys..
Thank you and looking forward to the next session
Hello Chris! I hope you and the family are well! Please send all my love! I wanted to thank you all once again for your guidance and expert knowledge that everyone at SADTC brought me. I have just had a long time client, with their Great Dane (just over 1 year old intact bitch)listen to my recommendation and get their dog to a vet before starting with behaviour modification. They sent their dog to me for board and I noticed a new behaviour. She will furiously chase her tail to the point of hurting it when anything raises her threshold. I tried exercising her out and working the mind, didn’t change it. Recommended she go to the vet and rule anything out. Lo and behold, it is a situation that requires medication and she will be right as rain with the right management going forward. They thanked me profusely because the vet said it is hard to pinpoint and people mistake the tail chasing as boredom and boredom alone. It wasn’t adding up for me so I told her VET before they see me again and she is coming to me again on Thursday so I will monitor and see.
Thank you for teaching me the importance of being humble. There are too many hectic dog trainers out there all fighting and being crazy against one another and forgetting we do this for the dogs and the owners who care. Thank you to you, Christine, Biata and everyone who worked with me. I look forward to maybe popping by next time I’m up again to say hello
Thank you for the privilege that was granted to me to attend the Instructor Course Level 1 training. It opened a totally new world. Wow what an experience it was the best past two weeks, which I never could have spent my time and energy better at any other place than at SADTC. You opened my eyes and with this said, I do not look at dogs as a dog that is standing there but rather as a personality standing there. I see them in a totally new light, thanks to you.
Chris and Christine, I couldn’t have had any better lecturers than you guys. You made every moment worthwhile from start to finish. I thank you for the best course I have ever attended in my whole life. Romayne, I thank you for all your patience and assistance whenever I wanted or needed assistance from you. You all made me feel welcome from the moment I set foot at your doorstep. Hope that I will be able to enroll for level 2 and 3 next year, I would never want to miss it for the world.
Keep up the good work, your name is well known to be the best.
A HUGE thank you for helping me with Whiskey yesterday. He passed out like a toddler in the car ride back.
The whole family read the home work documents and will work together with the ongoing training.
This morning he did his usual “lets chase the cat”. I gave the “leave it” command and he immediately stopped (which he never did). Walk up to me and sat down. Super “good boy” and gave him his treat.
Thank you once again and will do our part in the continuous training
You are all super nice and amazing people
Regarding the lesson on Saturday, I was very impressed and satisfied at the passion and patience I got to witness between the trainers and the dogs. ?
Explanations were very clear regarding what to do, and how to do it, as well as assistance when required. I appreciate the individual attention that was given to each puppy and handler as well.
Looking forward to our next lesson.
On arrival I was so stressed because Jax was not used to so many strange people and dogs and he even went for one of the instructors. However, the instructors were all great in helping us calm down and assuring me that it was normal behavior and that I shouldn’t worry. After that I really enjoyed the class and was even pleasantly surprised that Jax behaved so well off leash.
Sandra also offered some helpful tips after the class with regards to feeding Jax when practicing what we have learnt so far.
We thoroughly enjoyed the class, I’ve already bragged about it to everyone I know and we look forward to the next class.
Training was awesome, definitely not what I expected but it was good. Loved to interact with other peoples dog’s, and really astonishing to see the change in behaviour from the beginning of the lesson and then at the end of the lesson.
Can’t wait to walk the journey with you guys and my dog, super exited to see the outcome.
The first session went well. Asgard was a little bit shy, but he is getting there. I followed the homework given by the instructors, although he is still having trouble with the stand command. Otherwise he is fine, thank you for your check up.
The first lesson was great, I really appreciated the individual assistance as soon as a “problem” was picked up during the group training session. It was a very enjoyable session.
We were very pleased with the first lesson. I think we are on track to making Rolo and me feel comfortable around new people and dogs. We had some slight barking but i was expecting him to be way more of a handful. We are very happy and very optimistic.
All smiles from my side.
Thank you very much, I really enjoyed the training.
It was very interesting and educational. A bit stressful but very good.
All was good thank you.
Jinx was out for the count most of the day which was great.
We enjoyed the first class a lot. It was very good and well organised. Thank you very much.
The lesson was great! Lee-Anne and I learnt a lot from the lesson and we enjoyed it.
Ceaser went back to for a check-up and I introduced him to her the way you showed me, he did react at first but nothing compared to how he used to .He however did go towards her to take the treat from her hand.
As soon as she showed us the new exercises he got distracted and all was okay, also what I picked up was when we all sat on the floor and had a casual chat he warmed up to her and he even approached her and allowed her to rub his neck.
I have been working Ceaser well almost daily, so now I train him at random times and places, even if it is only a down stay in the kitchen while I am making coffee.
I just again want to thank you soo much for helping us with him you really changed his and our lives.
Thank you so much for your friendliness and guidance on the phone yesterday regarding the possibility of getting a service dog for my daughter with Autism. We would really like to come visit your facility.
We are looking forward to getting more information and guidance from you!
I thought I’d share this photo with you. I placed 1st 27 years ago with our family GSD. It brought back good memories when I was a kid.
Hoping I can create the same kind of memories with my daughter now that we are training our GSD.
Take care and thank you for everything
I really enjoyed the training, the manner in which our pets are treated is impeccable, I saw one lady who was able to immediately calm down one of the more aggressive pups, this put me at such ease.
Our puppy is a bit stubborn, so I am keen to see how he takes to his second lesson this coming week.
A write up by Tilly’s owner.
About last week… Our precious Tilly, we are so proud of you pups!
Your very 1st Beagle fun day and you achieved so much! 3rd in Best of Breed Class (Baby Pup), 2nd in Best Head, 3rd in Topline and 1st in Best Dressed.
Credit to my puppy school and awesome teacher Sandra for making me a #bigdawg❣❣❣#southafricandogtrainingcollege
Frankie and I have enjoyed the classes and the training is really working well.
Thanks to all the instructors who all added valuable advise!
I enjoyed our first lesson! No need to improve at all, and I can’t wait to attend the next lesson.
It was a great experience for both me and my wife for the very first time. It’s a learning curb for us and we grateful for the patience the trainers have .Looking forward for next week.
Hi , thank you for reaching out , I enjoyed my first lesson , thank you for showing me the correct techniques
